ANCIENT

PALISADE TEMPORARY MARCHING CAMP

A typical fortification which can be used for all ancient armies. consisting of a ditch, embankment wooden palisade and walkway. These fortifications are fully compatable with DBM Rules. Comprising of single and multiple sections including Gateway and corner pieces which can be used to make camps of variable sizes.

ROMAN TEMPORARY MARCHING CAMP

Based on the latest archaeological evidence which shows the real use of the 'pila murilia' the camp consists of ditch (fossa), rampart (vallam) and stakes (cervdi). The stakes were made up of 3 pila murilia lashed together from over sized caltrops. These were placed on the ramparts and in the ditch to form a 'barbed wire' effect. This kind of marching camp was in use from Republica Roman to late mprial Roman times.
