Communications

If you have not heard from us within a week of placing an order, something has gone wrong. We are dealing with computers here, anything horrible is possible. The most common problems are e-mails bouncing and/or phone numbers being mistyped, in which case we can only wait for you to contact us. It is also not beyond the bounds of possibility that someone here has done something stupid... please bear in mind when chasing up that we are closed on Sundays and Mondays, if you e-mail on a Saturday evening and do not hear from us until Tuesday afternoon it is not because we wish to ignore you, we are just having some seriously needed R&R. Or catching up with the accounts, more likely.

Out of Stock Items

The web-site is updated every week, but of course there is always the possibility that an item has run out since the last update.Where a game or supplement is out of stock but still in production, we should be able to restock inside two weeks. However, supplies from the larger companies are often dreadfully unreliable, and as most of our stock comes from abroad there are any number of potential difficulties. Figurine and scenery deliveries from UK companies can take between 24 hours and several months. The best we can do, therefore, is to keep you informed when there is a problem.

Postage and Packing

New Goods: 12 1/2%, Minimum 2 Pounds (except for magazine standing orders and part-deliveries), Maximum 5.00 Pounds per delivery. When one or more Out of Stock items are ordered we will try to restock it immediately so that everything is sent in a single delivery, when this does not prove possible we will inform you within a few days (often the dame day), and if we discover that an item is no longer available, we then delete it from the website.

Secondhand Goods & Reduced/Special Offers: At cost. Minimum 2 Pounds, Maximum 5 Pounds.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to their low cost and considerable weight, postage on dominoes is charged at cost (postage, + VAT for UK/EEC). This may also be applied to other games where total order value is under 20 Pounds.

Overseas postage and packing
At cost (normally airmail, surface on request). Minimum 2 Pounds.

Payment Options

All prices in Pounds Sterling.
MAESTRO, SOLO, VISA, MASTERCARD, EUROCARD, Cheque/Postal Order (Pounds Sterling only, drawn on a UK bank), PayPal (salnphil@spiritgames.co.uk). Please use PayPal as a last resort as it is very expensive for us to process. Remember that you can phone your order through if it is more convenient than using the order form. Note: You will NOT be charged until the goods are ready to be sent out. If you wish to pay by Paypal, we will email you with the amount to send. There is a £1 Paypal fee.

What's New Section

We put details up on the What's New section when they are physically here. In these uncertain times we do not solicit payment in advance for any mail order goods. On the other hand we have no objection to having your credit card number poised ready for plundering as soon as your desired goods become available, and many of our regular customers have benefited from the extra speed of this arrangement for several years.

Returns

If you are not happy with any product, we will accept returns within a reasonable period. If it is our fault, we will replace, refund or exchange as practicable, and refund the postage both ways if appropriate. Where the post will exceed the value of the returned goods we will normally refund rather than replace, so the cost of returning such goods without contacting us first will not be refunded. If the mistake was yours, we will still give a full refund as long as the product is unopened, but the postage is down to you. The most common problem with boardgames is one or more missing components, in which case please phone or e-mail rather than return the game, we can usually raid another copy to get the missing bits in the post to you straight away. We are aware, by the way, that games are often bought as presents and therefore not opened immediately, if there are found to be missing components in a game bought a couple of months ago do not hesitate to contact us, we will be positively anxious to rush the bits directly to the ultimate recipient.

Secondhand Items

We are not collector specialists, so are not fully au fait with the condition terminology. Most of our secondhand stuff is in very good condition, if it is noticably scruffy we say so. We will still accept returns, but unless something is unexpectedly wrong with the goods the postage will be down to you.

Classified and Events

We are happy to accept For Sale/Wanted//Events ads, provided that they are games or game-related, and not from commercial opposition or e-Bay traders. The Contacts section is also for private individuals with an interest in games in the context of this site! Events may include show or tournaments organised by our competitors - if it will make our customers happy, it deserves a mention.

Of course we will reject anything illegal, or immoral, and we keep the language clean. Don't forget to include contact details - it is acceptable to withold your email address if your prefer, but you will need to put a phone number instead.

Prices

All prices are subject to change - some even go down. If a re-stocked item comes in at a new price we will check with you that any increase is acceptable - more often than not we just send it out at the old price, and then change our list price, but just occasionally there is a radical change that is too much to absorb. We are seldom warned about these things in advance. If the price has gone down, you will get it at the new lower price.

Privacy

We will NEVER give your details to anyone without your express permission, unless required to do so by a court of law. We will also not contact you about anything we have to offer unless you have specifically asked us to do so. We keep your records on file for our mutual convenience unless you ask us not to, but they are kept away from the computer with the Internet connection for added security.

Why Log in

In the future this will enable us to send out extra info to those who want it and to speed up the ordering process. Our policy has always been not to hassle people, which has generally been appreciated, but there are times when we can and should do more for you. For the time being, the main advantqage to logging on is that it enables you to write reviews of boardgames for us - and there are prizes to be won! More details on the Join page.
