Roleplaying in the Grim Darkness of the 41st MillenniumYou are an Explorer, part of a proud dynasty of privateering merchant princes known as Rogue Traders. You are empowered by an ancient warrant of trade to seek out profit and plunder amongst unexplored regions of space. You will discover forgotten mysteries, find lost human worlds, and behold sights never before seen by human eyes. You must survive the dangers of space, not only the threat of vacuum, cold, and deadly radiation, but the things that lurk in the dark void between stars that Man was never meant to find.

|Rogue Trader Core Rulebook is a finly made and well written rpg book. The system works well making skill test, combat run smoothly. The concept of the game, the senior crew of a Rogue Trader vessel (weathy space faring merchants) give the players and games master a wide scope of options on adventuring, being the the players start with a good messure of wealth and influence their schemes and plans can be grander than many other games could ever hope to meet. A particular favourite of mine is the character creation system which involves the player building a career path of life events that can shape and give depth to the characters created. If character creation is done as a group then links to how the different player characters met and became associated can be draw adding to the sense of the player characters belonging together. Another aspect of the game that is nice is the acquisition system. Instead of the players working out how much money they have to the last coin (or Throne Gelt) the crew have a profit factor this figure give a base number to test against to see what they can afford (this number is modified by the quantity and rarity of the item or items the players wish to purchase), the profit factor falls and rises based on how they fare during their adventures rathers than what they buy. The setting is highly detailed and rich in it's depth. A facinating, if grim look at the dark far future. With only minor modification explained in the various other corebooks, Rogue Trader is compatable with the other Warhammer 40k RPG books (Dark Heresy, Deathwatch & Black Crusade). I have been running a campaigne using Rogue Trader as my main story line whilst using Dark Heresy & Deathwatch one off adventures to tie up any loose plot thread and set the scene for the upcoming adventures that my players with face as Rogure Traders I would highly recommend Rogue Trader as a fantastic system in which to play with in. Enjoy.|
