|Valdora is a pick up and deliver game which plays in about an hour and is a lot of fun!
The board shows a network of roads that connect the 5 cities together. 4 of these cities have a wooden plinth onto which cards are placed, which look like a book with pages. Two have equipment that you can buy, while the other two have jobs to do for commissions. The 5th city is in the center with a harbour, which is where you can buy used gems from. The roads have stops along them where you can collect the gems needed for delivery as well as silver mines, harbors, and patrons whom you must deliver your gems to.
The object of the game is to collect tools to gain gems, and collect comissions to deliver those gems to earn points. Completing a job also earns a craftsman and these are also worth points. You are free to move as far as you like each turn, but you cannot pass through a city, unless you have provisions.
So, during the game you wander around the board collecting gems, buying jobs and equipment, finishing jobs, all to earn points. If you like this type of game, then Valdora is a really good example of its kind, easy to learn and playable in about an hour.
