This is the famous game that has been around now since the 1930's in one form or another and has remained basically unchanged in all that time. The object of course is to gain sets of properties, build houses and hotels on them which makes them costlier and costlier for others to land on them. Object being to make all the other players bankrupt and end up with all the money. A few years back, a new trend with monopoly started and editions local to the town you live in began to appear, with local street names instead of the famous London landmarks. Still, it remains a staple game for toy shops to sell and so remains popular.
