Introduction: The enemy guns known to be positioned on top of the promontory at Pointe du Hoc posed a threat to both of the D-Day American invasion beaches, Utah and Omaha. The 2nd Ranger Battalion, led by Colonel James Rudder, was ordered to scale the 117 foot high cliffs and knock out the enemy battery. The resulting battle was unique in the annals of military history for its audacity. The ASLComp VARIANT Pointe du Hoc depicts this gallant army Ranger combat mission.

Included in the game are five scenarios, a campaign game, and these VARIANT rules, all used to portray the assault on Pointe du Hoc. All sections of these rules are assumed to have a prefix of "PdH" before the rule number to differentiate them from ASLRB rules.
