When some games get released, no matter how good they are, they get overshadowed by other games and Sylla is one of these. The game is about trying to use your wealth, power and influence in ancient Rome, in order to get the most prestige points, and so win the game. This is a gamers game that gets better the more it is played. During the game, you gain character cards, which can then be used to gain buildings in an auction, but if you use them this way they cannot be used later to help avoid disasters that befall the players, so it manageing your hand is quite important. This game has good player interaction and although there are several phases each round, each phase is quite different from another. There are also different ways to gain those vital prestige points points to give you victory too. This is such fun to play and just gets better as you fully learn how it all comes together. One of the better releases from 2008.
