In a Future where the government is run for profit, all but a privileged few live lives of poverty and desperation. The Resistance rises out of these oppressed masses in revolt and throws the government into chaos.
Many see hope for a brighter future for the first time in their lives. Others see opportunity for absolute power.
To take command, you must destroy the influence of your rivals and drive them into exile.
Interesting little game this one - and I am not ashamed to admit one I am not very good at! I just don't seem to be able to lie very well!! Each person is dealt two cards you have a reference card which tells you what these characters can do you can either lie and claim to be someone you are not to take their action or you can tell the truth. If people think you are lying they can call you out if you are proven to be lying then you pick one of you characters and flip them over showing a character (you have just lost one of your lives)!! If you were telling the truth then you reveal the card and then you get to draw a new character from out of the middle deck. In this game you can also assassinate people! I like this game but as said I end up giving the game away by laughing too much! The end game is when one person is left standing.

Coup is a very good filler game. You are dealt two cards. They could be Duke, assassin, ambassador, captain, or the countessurrounding. The aim of the game is to be the last one standing. Your two cards are your two lives. You can either bluff or tell the truth. The other players have the choice to either call you a liar and you must reveal one of the cardsupport you're holding. If you are telling the truth the accuser lose a life. If you're found to be bluffing you lose a life. It's a fun game and I very much enjoy playing this with gaming friends or people who don't game often. At £13 it's good value for money.
