|Quite my favourite set of wargames rules. It has every thing one would expect from a Too Fat Lardies large skirmish rules set. It is written in a clear conversational tone well laid out with the more complex concepts explained thoroughly by diagrams. Lay out is beautiful and would put much larger companies to shame for not managing with far more resources to approach it. The basic game due to be expanded very soon pits a band of evil Saxon raiders against your choice of British kingdom, each lead by a senior and two more junior nobles, and is run as a campaign of linked randomly generated scenarios. First raids where each side tries to build up resources either to fund the conquest of the kingdom on the Saxon side or to better defend it as well as gaining the necessary fame and prestige to build the senior nobles (lords) following. Then progressing onto battles where the control of provinces into which the target British kingdom are contested. It ends with the fall of the lord or the conquest of the British kingdom.|
