Italy in the 1500s. Under the guidance of the commercial families Strozzi, Medici, and Bardi, ships come from all over the world to Italy with valuable goods. The wealth that follows these goods, promotes the arts, sciences, and architecture. Players take the roles of traders and try to direct the ships with the best cargoes to the harbours of their choice at the right times to gain prestige and fortune. A great follow-on game to Medici and Medici vs. Strozzi.Contents:

|Strozzi is the 3rd in a series of games by Reiner Knizia, one of my favourite game designers. Medici was the the first, followed by Medici vs Strozzi and now Strozzi.
Knizia has come up with a game is very simple to play, yet offers some difficult choices, although it isn't a brain burner by any means.
You have three Flag tiles and you use these in a type of auction to claim a ship for one of three ports. There, your ship could give you points based on its speed and wares, and possibly a chance to get hold of a promotion tile, these are scored at the end.
The game is simple and clever, with some luck from the ship deck, but this just adds to your timing as to when you should claim a ship! Knizia has come up with another game with a twist in the scoring that makes the winner unknown until final scores are worked out.
