This is a game from the designer of Pandemic, but aimed more at the family. The game comes in a metal tin instead of the usual box and contains a set of tiles which make up the board and 4 very nicely detailed treasures that the players will be attempting to rescue before they sink into the sea. Each player moves around the \'board\' trying to stop the island tiles from sinking and to rescue the treasures by getting 3 cards of the same type. As the waters surge and rise, island tiles sink and the players have to work together to keep a path open to the treasures as well as a way back to the helipad to escape the island when all the treasures have been collected. Forbidden island is an easy game to learn and plays in around 30 minutes or so while they are helping each other to rescue the treasures. This is a light family game, but still good fun to play, even for us gamers!
