First created in 2975 at the dawn of role-playing games, the original Tunnels & Trolls gave players simple and easy rules to become heroes of the imagination. Players created characters to go forth fighting monsters, pursuing quests, and exploring the unknown. This new Deluxe edition offers all this, with a greatly expanded menu of options for character types and kindreds, special talents and abilities, new twists to magic and spellcasting, and more varieties of combat while maintaining the familiar and essential qualities of that early game and the the best features of all previous editions.
Ken St Andre, Liz Danforth, and James "Bear" Peters collaborated to re-examine every element of the game before rewriting this edition from top to bottom. The rules are complete with everything you need to play as hero or Game Master.
As always, Deluxe Tunnels & Trolls calls on your imagination. Create your own adventures, or explore Trollworld itself. Never before described in such detail, Trollworld is the life-long creation of Ken St Andre, parts of which were explored by the game's earlies players, including collaborators Danforth and Peters, who are sharing their own localities for the first time as well.
This amazingly illustrated book brings back old and little-seen classic artwork from the game's early days and all-new art, maps and graphics done especially for this edition by Liz Danforth and Steven S Crompton.
This is truly the ultimate edition of Tunnels & Trolls!
