"I was wrong on everything. We shall have to withdraw on the Golan Heights... and hold on to the last bullet."
- Moshe Dayan, 1700 hours, Oct. 1973
From an ancient land comes the story of a war that was short in duration but still fills the news today. Sometimes it feels like the Arab-Israeli conflict is one long campaign, with pauses. We see as much in the newspaper as we do in history books. Though the conflict continues today the last time there was a big shooting war, with Cold War implications, was 1973 - the surprise attack of the Yom Kippur War. No Middle Ground covers the most decisive actions on the northern front of the 1973 Arab-Israeli Conflict. There are three scenarios:
Rules for No Middle Ground include time-on-target artillery barrages, combined arms tactics, improved positions, minefields, airborne and commando assaults, and the balancing act between air units and anti-aircraft weapons on both sides. You also get optional units that could have been deployed by both sides. The interactive, chit-pull formation activation recreates the chaos of battle while still allowing players to deploy and fight with their armies. No Middle Ground will test the resolve and skills of game novices and veterans alike. Although designed for two players, solitaire play is quite easy.
