ESCAPE FROM CHOSIN - THE BATTLE OF TOKTONG PASS 1950 is a detailed new ASL Comp historical module that tells the story of the Korean War from the perspective of the men of the 1st Marine Division, retreating from the Chosin Reservoir in the face of a massive onslaught by Chinese Communist troops. The Marines knew there was only one way out from Chosin, and that was to fight their way out, outnumbered and amidst some of the most hostile terrain on earth - harsh, hilly and frozen. The marines could only bring their superior elan and small arms to bear against an enemy determined to annihilate every American soldier north of the 38th Parallel. Frostbite was an indiscriminate enemy while every hilltop captured by the Chinese had to be re-taken, every breach in the Marine perimeter repaired by force, without delay.

When dawn broke on November 28th, 1950 the First marine Division found itself strung out in three separate sectors, each isolated from the others and surrounded by a horde of Communist Chinese troops. Facing four enemy divisions and more on the way was Captain Bill Barber and "Fox" Company, 2/7, holding a crucial hill overlooking Toktong Pass just north of Hagaru-ri. The Marines reinforced what was soon to be known as 'Fox Hill' and soon 300 dead Chinese would be sprawled about the positions... but CG soldiers were a cheap commodity and the patter would be repeated for days until one side or the other lost this battle of wills.

ESCAPE FROM CHOSIN - THE BATTLE OF TOKTONG PASS 1950 brings the ASL Comp enthusiast to the KOREAN WAR and the desperate battle at Toktong Pass, a choke-point in the retreat from the Chosin Reservoir.

HISTORICAL BATTLEFIELD MAPS are what CH is all about and ESCAPE FROM CHOSIN - THE BATTLE OF TOKTONG PASS 1950 continues that tradition with one of the more compelling and unique historical module maps ever published. The resulting 24"x36" historical battlefield breaks new ground in the tactical-level game genre and is detailed and extensive, depicting the vital retreat route from the Chosin Reservoir toward Hagaru-ri.

THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE GAME. Ownership of Beyond Valor or any other module is required to use this product. All counters needed to play are included with thee exception of info markers (e.g. Prep fire) and entrenchements.
