"To Bean or not to Bean"
Bean farming was never so much fun! In Bohnanza, you have two or three bean fields and a handful of bean cards to plant in those fields. When you sell beans, you earn more for growing more of one variety than a few of several. Thus, you want to plant as many of your favourites as you can. But you must plant the beans in your hand in the order you got them. To get rid of the beans you don't want to plant, you trade them to other players for those you want. With clever trading, you get the cards you want without helping the other players too much. In the end, the player who earns the most gold is the winner.
This already expanded game has 11 bean varieties: enough for 7 players, but it also has rules for as few as two. Now everyone can be a successful bean farmer.

This is a really fun little game that always involves plenty of bean related jokes which seem a natural side effect of the game.
The basic idea is to plant sets of similar beans in your two bean fields, the more you have the more they are worth when you harvest them. You trade with other players in order to get the beans you need, as you have to play the cards in your hand in the order they are dealt. Also on your turn you have to plant your first bean card even if that means you have to harvest a bean field early in order to make room for it.
Once you have played your bean you turn over two more face up beans from the deck, you then have to trade, give away or plant these beans. It's a unique, simple and highly enjoyable mechanic making for very interesting games, though I would say this game plays better with 3 or more people.

|This card game is a lot of fun for 4 or more players to enjoy it at its best. You are dealt a set of 5 cards, which you cannot change the order of. We have found the best way to avoid people accidentaly shuffling their cards is for each player to lay them out in a row face down in front of them. This way they can be looked at easily without changing their order. On your turn, you must plant your first card and optionally plant your second card. Then you draw 2 cards from the deck which you can either keep to add to your fields or offer for trade or just give them away as if you still have them at the end of this phase you must plant them even if your fields are full, which can cost you dearly! Finally, you pick up 3 cards from the deck and add them to your hand, again without changing the order of your hand.
This is lots of fun and there is no down time as players are kept active all the way through.

|This game has a strange mechanic where you do not sort your hand but play it in the order that you have been delt it. This is hard to get a hold of for new players but once you have, this game is great. There is lots of player interaction as you try to trade to make the best bean fields. This means that there is very little time when you are doing nothing.
This game has been around for a while and now has several expansions which add different aspects to the game.
If there is a down side to the game it would be that to make a really good game of it you need at least 4 players. Other than that I can highly recomend this game.
