Fortune and Glory, The Cliffhanger Game is a Fast-paced game of high adventure, vile villains, edge-of-your-seat danger, and Cliffhanger pulp Movie Action. Players take on the role of a treasure hunter, travelling the globe in search of ancient artifacts and fending off danger and Villains at every turn in a quest for the ultimate reward of Fortune and Glory!
Featuring a beautifully rendered adventure map of the world as the game board, eight pulp adventure Heroes to choose from (such as Jake Zane the flying ace, Li Mei Chen the Night Club Singer and Martial Artist, or Dr Zhukov Master of Science), an army of ruthless Villains and thugs (including the Chicago Mob and the dreaded Nazis with plans of world domination), ancient Mayan Temples to explore with a Zeppelin hovering overhead, a wealth of coins to horde as Hereos collect fortune and glory throughout the game, and a unique mechanic of dangers to overcome and the classic cliffhanger moments of suspense that can result. Fortune and Glory is designed to create a pulp serial cinematic feel as the story and game unfolds.

|Pulp action - in a game?? Just the ticket. And it would be a great game for a family to play either in co-operative or competitive mode. The 1930\'s setting, presence of The Mob in cities and the Nazis across the globe, plus a Zeppelin, all add to the genre and Indy Jones feel of the game. A game for up to 8 players - it has a solo version as well (although as yet I haven\'t played that one). The game comes in a massive box, with lots of well scuplted minis (not pre-painted). The board, character sheets and cards all appear of good quality, and should stand the test of time. It all seems intuitive - the quick start rules are good enough to get you up and running to understand the basics of movement, artifact hunting, combat, allies and other basic features that will face you. I would recommend running through the basic start up rules at least for a few rounds until you have the game nailed down. Basically you take on the role of a character with key attributes which vary depending on the character. You start off with some cash, occasionally some equipment, and in a specific location. The aim of the competitive version is to acquire artifacts worth varying amounts of points - you determine what level of points you want to be victory, and then work towards it. You then have to reach where adventures are set(e.g. The Book of Doom; The Lamp of Darkness etc..). You then have to face and overcome challenges over several attempts - you may rest after attempts or press. Failing a challenge leads to a cliff-hanger - which you then have to wait until next turn to resolve. Mobsters start popping up in cities, from which you purchase supplies and equipment, and Nazis start popping up all over the place, and you need to fight them to proceed to your goals. Overall good fun, and probably has a lot of replay value, given the numbers of variables, and combinations of things that can change within a game.|
