The Civil War proved to be the dramatic turning point in American history; a fratricidal fight that cost three-quarters of a million American lives and turned the American social order on its head. When it was over and the smoke had cleared, American inventiveness, factory output, and New England shipbuilding had turned our young nation into a world power. The American Civil War also created a pantheon of heroes, villains and buffoons. Until Lincoln's War, no operational level board game has offered such a comprehensive approach to the civil War on such an easy-to-learn level.

You have heard of Lee and Grant, but have you heard of Vallandigham, Wood and Wigfall? Lincoln's War is about to introduce you to some extraordinary people. Ohio Congressman Clarence Vallandigham - exiled to the Confederacy for seditious critisism of the Lincoln administration was then exiled to Canada by Davis for critisizing the Southern President. Mayor Fernando Wood who counted on the support of New York street gangs actually proposed the secession of Manhattan, Long Island and Staten Island as a separate City-State. Then there was a Texas Congressman Louis Wigfall who spied for the rebels and even raised and trained rebel militia in Maryland, while still in office. These are just three of the 145 historic characters you must contend with as Lincoln, struggling to hold a nation together, or as Davis, forging a new nation from the old. Are you ready for a truly unique approach to Civil War gaming? Lincoln's War delivers. Unlike most Civil War games, here victory depends as much on personalities and politics as it does on combat. And when your game is over, you may well find that you have rewritten history and have a new story to tell.

Lincoln's War offers easy-to-follow rules for 1-4 players, rapid play and six distinct scenarios. Lincoln's War also offers such innovative features as an original combat system, Congressional support for armies in the field, seditious characters, commander paralysis, the Lincoln Assassination plot, the possibility of British support for the Confederacy, the Emancipation Proclamation, a fresh approach to campaign cards, simple command structure and simpler naval blockade rules as well as Confederate commerce raiding.
