|This expansion is very very good and adds alot to an already great game! The new starting establishments and improvement cards add a lot to the replayability! If you haven't already checked out the main game I would highly recommend that this is a great time to do so, since this expansion just came out. The game itself is incredibly easy to teach and is a fantastic gateway game for those that have never gamed or are new to the hobby. For those that are hardcore gamers this game does have an element of strategy and depth at the same time. I would definately use it on gaming days as a filler game. The first expansion for Machi Koro really ups the game by increasing the player count from 4 to 5, adds an amount of new buildings with a nice variety of abilities, adds 2 more lands marks to construct, a new starting landmark AND a new play variant. The expanison includes more "blue zone" cards to help score coins on other players turns and red zone cards for rolls of 7 and 8 to even out the odds when a player is rolling 2 dice. The new play variant to play is all the cards are shuffled together and ten cards (no duplicates allowed) are dealt in the buying area. Once a card is purchased a new one from the deck is dealt in the spot. This variant mixes up what can be bought and makes the Train Station much more useful and gives more appeal to buying higher numbered buildings. I would say if you like Machi Koro you definately should invest in this expansion. Excellent game - hopefully can see more expansions being made.|
